Chief Engineer

- Reporting to Engineering Manager
- Check in and out with time clock each working day
- Prepare weekly progress and activity report
- Provide technical and QSHE assistance to the project and managing parts of construction projects to ensure, safety, technical quality standard and deadline of projects, and grant approval to construction projects
- Coordinating and supervising site engineering team
- Training of current and new site engineering members
- Delegates of tasks among site engineering team
- Works with the engineering team, colleagues of other departments, assigned consultants, assigned contractors, suppliers, customers, involved authorities, etc. to develop safe, efficient, and effective projects that will fall within the agreed budget and time schedule, in compliance with the Employer’s standards, procedures and policies
- Preparation of cost estimations and conceptual design
- Preparation of technical and financial evaluations (after negotiation) for construction/maintenance projects in respect of materials, costs of labor, installation, safety, quality and expected time
- Participation in ad hoc site visits, technical site inspections, official surveys (topo, bathy, …), land handovers to tenants, weekly contractor meetings, meetings with consultants/authorities/customers, test witness at laboratory, etc.
- Follow-up on applicable local laws, regulations, decrees, technical specifications, construction permits, licenses, EIA...
- Identification and resolving any unexpected difficulties and other problems
- Preparation and updates (min. 2 times per year) power point presentations (visops) and report to Engineering Manager;
- Report on non-conformity reports and penalty sheet reports of site projects and propose methods for improvement
- Document control of soft copies and hard copies in site engineering office
- Proposals for cost and time saving alternatives for designing and construction on the short/long term;
- Active involvement with QSHE on the site and in the whole industrial zone (incl. 5-S, etc.).
- Take action, report to Engineering Management and maintain Company's standard (regulations, procedures, policies, etc.) at all times;
- Assessing and minimizing risk;
- Checking technical site reports, designs, drawings, method statements, design calculations and quantities with a critical eye to ensure that they are followed correctly and meet the applicable standard
- Investigations, providing technical advice, finding ways to prevent problems and solving problems on site
- Allocates resources effectively including personnel, materials, and time
- Preparing site reports and other paperwork
- Continuous Improvement Program: QSHE, technical designs, execution method, cost, etc.
- Preparation, updates and follow-up: VISOP’s, QSHE reports, technical reports, underground utility drawing, benchmarks, calibration survey devices, lab tests program, contractual documents, letters, staff certificates, training programs (safety, …), attendance and leave (time clock) schedule, contractor’s as built dossier, etc.
- Strong and efficient coordination and communication with other departments of the Employer
- Keep the Manager of Engineering Department informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations

- Bachelor Degree in civil construction engineering with a minimum of fifteen to twenty (15-20) years experience in related supervision and management works at site.
- Knowledge requirement of bidding procedures and construction contract follow-up
- Experience/knowledge/interest in civil engineering (new projects and maintenance) such as road works, drainage systems, lighting systems, dykes, etc.. Experience with fire fighting installation works is an added value
- Advanced MS Office and auto-cad
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (Vietnamese and English)
- Advanced analytical skills
- Ability to produce quality work under pressure
- Strong technical know how of construction materials and applications
- Good time management and the ability to set priorities
- Self-motivated, honest, strong initiative, problem solver, punctual, accurate, hands on mentality, flexible
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Possession of supervision certificate
- Survey knowledge
- Ability to work independently and in working team
- Work location at Dinh Vu industrial zone
