Business Analysis

Reporting to the Head of Finance and working closely with the plant processing and sales team and regional headquarters in Singapore, this role is accountable for:
• Accurate costing
• Standard Costing
• Tracking of actual and standard cost variances
• To support in fact finding where required to facilitate analysis of plant costs control.
• Support the management and valuation of inventory for quarter end reporting.

Principal Responsibilities:
Planning, Organization and Directing
1. Ensure that all activities of the cost accounting area are done timely and with good quality.
2. Ensure timely provision of costing done each month and variance analysis to the Accounting Manager and Finance Manager to allow timely closing of the books.
3. Proactive analysis of variances and communication of issues and opportunities to the Finance Manager.
4. Management and maintenance of standard costs.
5. Assist in the monthly plant processing P&L reporting and yearly budget
6. Work with Regional Production Manager and Regional Finance in SGP to define policies and procedures necessary for ensuring all cost accounting activities are done correctly and in accordance with Group policies and SOX requirements

Data Collection
1. Construct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system
2. Support in creating and reviewing the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems

Inventory
1. Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
2. Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues and work with the Accounting Manager in resolving issues.
3. Prepare inventory ageing report and review slow moving stocks.
4. Support the valuation of inventory review at quarter end.

Analysis
1. Analyze periodic variances and their causes.
2. Present variance commentary monthly to Finance Manager.
3. Assist in investigation of variance where required.

Any other relevant ad-hoc projects/ tasks

Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum 4+ years of plant and cost accounting experience manufacturing/production environment or medium size MNC.
- Internationally recognized and relevant Accounting/Business/professional degree.
- Preferably with ability to converse and write in simple English.
- Those with LEAN / Six Sigma training would be added advantage.
- Experience with ERP system is a must.
- Requires good analytical, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Positive mindsets and willing to learn.
