****** Position Summary ******
• The Ground Safety Officer (GSO) will be responsible to perform a variety of routine and complex tasks in analysing and administering various components of the Ground Safety Reporting System, Safety Management System (SMS) and Airline Security Program (ASP).
• The GSO shall assist SQA and Security to implement the SMS and ASP within Ground Operations, Cargo and Catering operational areas.
• In conjunction with SQA, Security and Bamboo (BAV) management teams review safety related events and risks.
• Develop and implement policy and procedures to mitigate identified risks.

****** Functions & Responsibilities ******
• Act as a role model for safety, security and OH&S (Occupational Health & Safety);
• Provide information and feedback to SQA and Security on incidents and accidents that occur on the ground;
• Assist in incident/accident investigations as the Ground Operations, Cargo and Catering subject matter expert;
• Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and contribute to risk assessments aimed at improving policy/procedures affecting ground safety / security / OH&S;
• Review safety reports and identify trends and risks associated with the operation related to Ground Operations, Cargo and Catering;
• In conjunction with SQA, Security and BAV management teams, develop and implement strategies to mitigate the identified trends/risks;
• Carry out inspections and observations of ground operations to assess the level of implementation of safety, security, OH&S and operational standards;
• Carry out risk assessments of identified hazards and risks;
• Make recommendations to manage safety, security and OH&S risks to ground staff, contractors and/or passengers;
• Review instances of service excellence and ground operational safety, security and OH&S measures, so as to ensure Just Culture system is maintained at all times;
• Ensure that ground staff who are nominated for awards have demonstrated safe behaviours;
• Identify ground staff who contributed to safety / security / OH&S excellence;
• Act as the SQA representative to the Ground Safety Action Group;
• Write articles relating to ground operations (including Cargo and Catering operations) for the quarterly Bamboo Airways safety newsletter;
• Carry out Safety, Security & QA related training as required; and
• Other duties as required by the Director SSQA Department.

• Shall be a senior ground operations personnel;
• Should be qualified as a trainer the trainer and have a minimum of three years’ experience;
• Shall possess a detailed knowledge of ground operations, including operational, security and safety procedures relating to Ground Operations, Cargo and/or Catering;
• Shall have a minimum five years’ experience working in teams;
• Should have demonstrated computer skills with experience in MS Word, Excel and Outlook;
• Shall possess sound interpersonal and communications skills;
• Shall be written and spoken English;
• Shall possess or be able to quickly obtain a thorough knowledge of company documents;
• Shall demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and knowledge;
• Should be qualified as a Lead Auditor; and
• Shall be willing to undertake training.
