Back Of House Manager

• Creating and maintaining rosters to ensure adequate and efficient crewing at all times.
• Cordinating with HR Departmnet to finalize rosters/hours on a timely basis and the payroll for staff, sending the final payroll to Finance Department and responding to any queries.
• To Advise General Manager on crewing needs and personnel issues.
• Assisting General Manager with duties and tasks as required and assume the role of General Manager in his or her absence, this includes conducting weekly hostel meetings with management and briefing all crew on relevant information to achieve hostel goals/KPIs.
• Hold productive and informative crew meetings when required.
• Report back and discuss all relevant matters of the hostel to the General Manager .
• Voice an opinion at all times for the good of VBH.
• Supervise and safeguard the hostel culture and its standing in the local community and the current law.
• Have an excellent line of communication with all suppliers to VBH and ensure high quality and price competitiveness at all times.
• Manage the induction and training of all new crew as well as schedule and carry out weekly, monthly and yearly performance reviews.
• Have a strong focus on our in-house surveys and manage crew effectively to meet VBH’s goals and targets.
• Recruit, interview and hire hostel crew as required.
• In charge of The Housekeeping, Security&Maintenance, Office accounting.
• Ensures that all equipment and furniture within the hostel is in good working order and reacts quickly when maintenance is required.

• Have the capacity to train and coach all crew through both on the job training as well as scheduled training sessions.
• Demonstrate excellent time keeping.
