Associate Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY
- Preparing of local tax reports and DPI reports.
- Responsibility of Account payable.
- Assist to month-end closing

PRINCIPLE DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee the Account Payable; update daily bank balance in order to ensure accounting records reflect the current status.
• Preparing local tax report (VAT/FCT/invoice issuing report).
• Monitoring tax invoice issuing to make sure the invoice was issued timely and up-to-date
• Preparing DPI report
• Month-end: upload journal, manage expense allocation, etc
• Prepare bank account reconciliation; update relevant financial system (eg. Bank balance); ensure that accounting records are timely and accurate and account balances are maintained with FedEx accounting policies.
• Respond to all internal queries regarding payment and vendor information; clarify finance policies for which they are responsible or refer to senior staff on queries regarding finance policy compliance in order to ensure that all FedEx departments are well informed about financial policies and are in compliance.
• Respond to all inquiries from external vendors on payment status;
• Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures (local and corporate statutory reporting and filing requirements) in order to maintain internal controls so as to safeguard the company’s assets and records.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE
Academic:
• College degree in finance, accounting or business or equivalent
• Additional coursework in accounting and finance is preferred
Experience & knowledge:
• At least one (2) years of accounting experience,
• Understanding on local tax compliance.
• Experience and knowledge of customs brokerage & logistics are preferred
Attribute:
• Advanced skills in Excel, Access and Windows, knowledge of famous ERP, e.g. oracle is preferred
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Fluency in English verbal and written.
