Asia Operations and Technical Manager

The Asia Operations and Technical Manager will report to the Director of Operations

Job Overview
The Asia Operations and Technical Manager will be responsible for all manufacturing, engineering, inspection and quality in Asia manufacturing operations. The position will also manage Vietnam employees and provide support for Asian sourcing. The Manager will successfully utilize metrics to achieve company objectives and expectations.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Provide direct engineering support for Asia production.
• Support Rival USA in developing a strong relationship with Rival Vietnam through communication and follow up.
• Responsible for all performance metrics for Rival direct manufacturing and inspection in Vietnam and support for China inspection.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration and spare parts to minimize possible down-time.
• Manage Vietnam employees including performance, hiring and discipline.
• Assisting in sourcing critical suppliers for development opportunities and existing business.
• Manage overall Vietnam Rival manufacturing operations.
• Develop manufacturing processes and PM program.
• Manage Vietnam manufacturing inventory accuracy.
• Responsible for safety in Rival manufacturing business.
• Stay in tune to and communicate new technologies in Asia.
• Lead team to receive ISO certification in Vietnam Rival manufacturing.
• International Travel will be required
• Additional duties as required.

• Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, Master’s degree preferred.
• 4+ years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing position.
• Strong English speaking and writing skills required, working knowledge of Mandarin a plus.
• Strong computer skills including ERP experience and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
• Energetic self-starter.
• Strong math and statistics analysis skills.
• Project management experience.
• Proven history of improving efficiencies and utilization of equipment.
• Experience in reading and creating mechanical drawings.
• Ability to travel throughout Asia as required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
• Management experience desired.
