Application Development Officer

***Summary:
The Application Development Office works in accordance with the company’s software development lifecycle to design and develop both new and enhancements to software applications that meet business specification. Primary responsibilities include requirements analysis to gain an understanding of business needs to develop level of effort estimates, software design and development, unit testing, performing design and code reviews, and development of technical documentation. Quickly master new technologies as needed, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a focus on delivering a high level of customer service. The Application Development Officer reports directly to Application Development Director.

***General Responsibilities:
• Actively participate in the development and review of business and system requirements to obtain a thorough understanding of business needs in order to deliver accurate solutions.
• Design application solutions that fully implement business requirements.
• Develop high quality software code in accordance with established company standards and development guidelines.
• Produce technical documentation that accurately and thoroughly depicts the software design and code base. The documentation needs to sufficiently assist QA testing and production support activities.
• Perform adequate unit testing of own and other developers’ application development work. At a minimum, unit testing should ensure all requirements have been addressed, all basic functionality works, and errors are handled properly.
• Expeditiously troubleshoot application production issues that resolve the issues without causing additional problems.
• Perform systems analysis and functional testing as needed

Education / Experience:

1. Should have a minimum of 02 years of technology experience
2. Extensive knowledge of data processing, enterprise software applications.
3. Technical experience with databases, Web development, and Mobile Native app.
4. Good background in Database design in NoSQL and Oracle.
5. Good Background in Python or Java.
6. Working knowledge of AI/Machine Learning would be an asset
7. Working knowledge of Computer Vision, Data Mining, NLP, Speech Processing would be an asset
8. Excellent communication skills, problem solving and crisis management skills, and strong analytical skills with the ability to work as an effective member of a team.
9. Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes.
10. Good English oral and Reading comprehension.
