Analyst Engineer

1) Perform analyses of complex lateral force resisting components and systems (wood and steel) used in light-framed wood buildings
2) Analyze and/or design light frame building components using engineering computer software such as LSDYNA, ABAQUS (nonlinear), ETABS, RISA, and/or SAP2000.
3) Assist in research and development testing of components used in light frame buildings to resist gravity and lateral wind and seismic loads
4) Generate reports using analysis and testing data.
5) Assist in preparation of technical documents and bulletins
6) Conduct feasibility studies and provide preliminary designs.
7) Provide technical support of MiTek building components to technical support team.

1) Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in structural engineering. Masters Degree or Ph.D. in Structural Engineering preferred
2) Solid engineering/technical skills. Must have the ability to comprehend structural terms & topics.
3) Educational background and fundamental understanding of non-linear finite element analysis, structural dynamics and inelastic behavior of building elements
4) Have working knowledge in structural design using FEA and FEM analysis tools including non-linear finite element software (ABAQUS, LSDYNA, or similar)
5) Excellent communication skills
6) Familiarity with light frame design construction.
7) Prior experience with building analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, Perform 3D, or Risa is preferred
8) Solid understanding of building codes (International Building Code, ASCE 7), statistical analysis and quality engineering principles.
9) Ability to interact at a high level of professionalism with others; including co-workers and customers
10) Overtime may be required. Attendance during regular work hours and overtime required.
