Alumni & Mentoring Consultant

THE ROLE

The Alumni and Mentoring Consultant is responsible for implementing strategies to engage with RMIT alumni in Hanoi and in the region, including coordinating the delivery of events, communications (including social media, electronic communications and publications) and other initiatives which support alumni engagement in partnerships with all RMIT campuses and schools. The role will also be a central point of contact to assist internal and external stakeholders with alumni related enquiries. The role will involve maintaining alumni information on the RMIT alumni database, as well as management and maintenance of various social media and web platforms. As building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders is crucial, the position is the key point of contact for alumni and will involve developing an understanding of the different internal stakeholder groups throughout the university. The role will also be the first point of contact for students and Industry regarding the Industry Mentoring program in Hanoi, providing on-campus consultancy and coordinating Industry mentoring events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Alumni Engagement (60%)

Database management
Ensure the Alumni database is kept up to date and accurate by inputting data via various sources. This also includes inter-country database sharing and updates.
Work closely with the local and international software developers to continuously improve the system to meet specific engagement goals.
Report on alumni statistics as required.

Event management:
Support the Alumni & Mentoring Manager and Schools on planning and delivering a range of alumni engagement activities
Develop and deliver alumni engagement activities (such as events, workshops, social activities, meeting on behalf of RMIT Vietnam Alumni Relations) at Hanoi campus and other locations as required
Support the development of Alumni chapters in Hanoi and in other locations when required

Communication
Deliver strategic communications to alumni through diversified channels
Support the communication with RMIT alumni in Asia to align with global engagement strategy.
Key local contact to support alumni enquiries, as well other stakeholders for alumni-related communications.
Ensure the national and global alumni policy is communicated correctly and consistently among stakeholders.
Use media tracking and collaborate with Communications team to identify and feature prominent alumni
Support the logistics and management of the alumni cards in Hanoi

Industry Mentoring Program (30%)

Deliver promotional campaigns of the Industry Mentoring program amongst students, alumni, staff and industry partners
Develop and coordinate Industry Mentoring events and workshops for mentees and mentors.
Monitor program performance and suggest initiatives where relevant

Industry Engagement (10%)

Identify and engage with active/high profile alumni and potential industry partners to align with strategic goals.
As a representative of Careers department, develop and strengthen internal and external relationships through an effective customer service and problem solving approach.
When required, provide support to Industry Relations in Hanoi including organizing and promoting careers and industry events

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management or related disciplines.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the area of marketing, business, customer service, customer relations.
Proven ability and experience in managing and hosting key events and activities targeting client and customer needs. .
Experience in database management for the purpose of CRM and prospect profiling.
Experience in monitoring campaigns on social networks, and working with educational alumni groups for the purposes of engagement, sponsorship or fundraising would be preferred.
Well-developed and demonstrable interpersonal and networking skills, including negotiation, liaison and cross-cultural communication
Well-developed planning, organisational and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
Public speaking/presentation skills are an advantage.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

If English is not your native language then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard at a BULATS Intermediate level (BULATS score 65), equivalent to IELTS (General) 6.0. RMIT Vietnam will require you to complete a BULATS test to assess your level of English before an offer of employment can be made.
