Agronomist

The successful candidate shall take the following duties and responsibilities:
• Developing a strong sourcing network among farmers, suppliers, input companies and the local government units in sourcing areas to guarantee the full supply of sustainable produce that meet our clients’ quality standard and volume requirements.
• Ensuring accurate production forecasting and planning to meet the sales volume requirements as set by the Sales team
• Screening, selecting and retaining new farmers that are able to join our sustainable production program based on their strong personal motivation and commitment towards sustainable agriculture
• Understanding the key drivers that impact volume, quality and price trends of agricultural produce in the sourcing areas (i.e. disease pressure, prices of inputs, over/underproduction, seed availability, weather conditions, etc)
• Implementing VIETGAP, GLOBALGAP and other private GAP standards at farmers’ level
• Training and guiding farmers in the implementation of VIETGAP, GLOBAL GAP and other private GAP standards
• Developing strong knowledge on the sustainable management of pests and diseases
• Working in close cooperation with the Quality Assurance & Control teams to comply with the required food safety standards
• Preparing and implementing field trials with farmers related to new vegetable varieties and/or cultivation techniques

* Minimum Educational Requirement:
A BSc degree in agronomy, plant protection, horticulture or other agriculture science

* Minimum Experience Required:
Must have at least 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in a business company; in a job that requires management skills abilities and strong knowledge on sustainable production through GAP standards.

* Special Skills Required:
• Knowledge of vegetable cultivation and handling of fruit and vegetables
• Excellent in communication with farmers, traders, clients and local authorities
• Enjoy working in rural areas
• Effective time management and organizational skills (e.g. ability to plan and arrange own work with minimal supervision)
