Actuarial Assistant Manager / Specialist

* Position Objective:
• Lead the team and ensure that the actuarial financial model i.e. Prophet model, is accurate and efficient. Support the Chief Actuary in other various projects according to business needs.

* Roles and Responsibilities:
• Lead and monitor the Actuarial Modelling team to develop accurate actuarial model
• Manage and support special project
• Ability to challenge the model designs, controls, constraints and coding efficiency
• Review the accuracy of actuarial models, perform modelling analysis
• Review the processes and look for enhancements to procedural controls and operational efficiency
• Review the Reinsurance premium calculation, ensure timely payment to the re insurers as well as reports to Group Office

* Financial and Non-Financial Measures:
• Knowledge of the model, data availability
• Accuracy and efficiency of the model change process
• Strict compliance with work standards & procedures

* Communication Requirements:
• Internal: Communicate confidently and articulate stakeholders’ requirement (e.g. Valuation, Pricing) accurately and translate to modelling language
• External: Ability to work with other departments (FIN, IT, etc.) to understand the data availability/constraint
• Ability to work with the reinsurers on the report submission/queries etc.

• University degree
• 5 years of relevant actuarial experience
• Association qualification is preferred
• Extensive knowledge of Prophet software
• Knowledge of additional programming languages (VBA/SQL/Python/R) is preferred
