Actuarial Assistant Manager

* Position Objective:
• To ensure that all actuarial financial reports (e.g. IFRS/HKIO, Strategic Planning, etc.) are done accurately, in a timely manner, and communicated effectively to senior management.

* Roles and Responsibilities:
• Oversee Valuation processes, manage the Monthly/Quarterly IFRS reporting cycles
• Review IFRS results and analyses e.g. LAT, Monthly/Quarterly OPAT analysis
• Explain the results and provide insights into the financial dynamics for each reporting cycle
• Review the accuracy of actuarial models and efficiency of the modeling processes
• Manage the actuarial-related tasks of Strategic Planning
• Ensure established control requirements are appropriately implemented
• Review experience studies & makes assumptions recommendations based on the results
• Manage and coach the team

* Financial and Non-Financial Measures:
• Accuracy and timeliness of all reports
• Strict compliance with work standards & procedures

* Communication Requirements:
• Internal: Ability to work with other departments (FIN, IT, etc.) and Group Office to address issues and ensure report quality
• External: Ability to communicate the results of actuarial financial reports in a way that enables senior management to utilize their findings

• University degree
• 5-6 years of relevant actuarial experience
• Association qualification is preferred
• Strong background in life insurance operations & IFRS knowledge
