Position Purpose (a succinct statement of why this role is required)
• The Technical role is central to the protection of the value of the aircraft asset for Angelica.
• From the time of purchase the Technical executive will assess the aircraft value inherent in its specification and maintenance standard. In the case of speculative or direct manufacturer purchase by Angelica and Vietjet, the Technical executive will negotiate the price of items and equipment fitted to the new aircraft, comprising of between 5% - 15% of the value of the aircraft typically;
• The Technical Executive will manage the inspection of the aircraft at delivery and in the case of new aircraft, during the process of manufacture;
• The Technical executive will manage delivery of the aircraft to the customer and signing for its technical condition at delivery;
• During the period of the lease the technical executive will ensure that the technical specification of the aircraft asset is kept up to date and will procure and manage aircraft and its records inspections on a regular basis interfacing directly and independently with the airline senior management. The Technical executive will ensure that the quality and integrity of data held on the Angelica internal databases is maintained up to date at all times.
• The Technical executive will act as the primary interface between Angelica and the airline operational and engineering functions;
• The Technical executive will vet and approve all claims from the customer for reimbursement maintenance and other reserves and contributions on aircraft and engine maintenance and work closely with other Angelica business functions on reserve drawdown amounts and allocations;
• The Technical executive will set as part of the maintenance review board, the maintenance reserves to be charged in leases;
• The Technical executive will be present at all redeliveries of aircraft from lessee’s and will negotiate all redelivery financial adjustments
• The Technical executive will arrange protection of the asset and correct storage off lease
• The Technical executive will arrange and execute the practical aspect of aircraft repossession, worldwide in default situations.
• To manage the execution of the technical transactions function from the point of technical agreement through contract completion and, to assist in the technical input function design and structuring of a potential transaction prior, during and post the point of commercial agreement
• To lead technical negotiations such that deals based on new and existing products are documented and closed efficiently and effectively
• To co-ordinate technical internal inputs into the transaction execution process
• Contribute positively and proactively to a team based and information sharing environment

Position Dimensions (eg, headcount, budget, revenue, funds under mgt etc)
• A minimum team of 2 Technical Project Directors who will allocate the responsibilities to match workload and specialist knowledge, but will offer each other support and “redundancy” in case of high workload, travel, or illness

Core Accountabilities (what are the major tasks the role will be accountable for)
• To provide the technical services required to support a growing aircraft portfolio and to be an integral part of the Operations portfolio plan process with respect to asset rating under the direction of the Chief Technical Officer
• To act as the technical resource for all activities herein for Angelica’s business unit within the allocated geography, segment or product area
• Assessment of all technical issues related to air authorities/aircraft specification/legal and market upgrade requirements/maintenance and contractual obligations/ technical obsolescence effects
• Having the requisite knowledge to model technical value impact issues arising from specification and maintenance status
• From experience, providing pro-forma language, participating in the negotiation and drafting of origination term sheets / letters of intent and transaction execution documents
• To individually accomplish inspections or manage third party inspectors as part of the asset and related operator inspection programme
• Asset repossession and redeployment management including asset specification and maintenance status data, and project management including cost budgeting and expenditure controls
• Highly motivated with a passion to succeed, willing to travel extensively globally and for periods that extend beyond weekends

• Execution of Angelica-originated transactions to a standard which, as a minimum, matches the legitimate requirements and expectations of external and internal stakeholders
• To pursue a sophisticated, flexible deal negotiation strategy which fully engages the customer at the both the commercial and relationship level
• To secure appropriate protections and mutually effective deal outcomes consistent with an ongoing relationship
• To provide insight and clarity into specific technical and structural issues arising from asset finance transactions
• To contribute to the knowledge base of Angelica by feeding back relevant experience following the completion of specific transactions
• Actively assist Angelica colleagues with their own transactions in any way requested including problem solving and proactive information sharing.
• To ensure a smooth handover of transaction knowledge to the functions which will have ongoing management responsibility for the transaction

Technical Competencies and Qualifications (min/desired skills & knowledge)
• At least 5 years’ experience in execution or technical advisory on large value asset/structured finance transactions with an international range of customers
• A detailed understanding of the technical and appreciation of the risk underpinnings of asset backed, cross border financing transactions
• A detailed understanding of the technical aspects of the documentary framework and key contractual/documentary issues arising in such transactions
• An analytical and task focussed frame of mind, with very well developed written, oral and numeric skills
• Considerable programme management skills when drawing on internal and external expertise
• An understanding of the wider economic context of aircraft maintenance and operating costs within the customers’ business
• Preferably capable of operating in Vietnamese as well as English, and understanding Vietjet technical planning and production systems
