(Sr.) Sourcing Executive

Purpose of Position
- To sourcing new local suppliers for office furniture finished goods, components, and hearth products according to internal customer’s request
- Initial evaluate, analyze and propose recommendation report to internal customers for the best total cost suppliers
- Perform supplier pre-qualification process including but not limit to supplier evaluation, quote assessment, on-site visit and corporate social responsibility audit
- To support all the follow ups of sourcing projects according to internal customer’s request
- To inspect products ensuring HNI product specification and quality requirement are met before shipment;
- To feedback the actual product quality condition to QE or other team members;
- To support QE and other team members on continuous supplier quality improvement

Major Challenge
- Identifying potential new supplier’s capabilities that meet internal customer’s needs, even from outside of our industry
- Daily communication with people in different location and language in different time zone
- Need to work at supplier sites independently.
- Needs quality inspection and product knowledge in office furniture;
- Need to travel frequently to different supplier locations to perform quality work;
- Need good trouble shooting skill to report issue correctly to Quality Engineer (QE) or other teams;
- Not based in a company office so candidate needs good communication skill, work independently, and have passion for work, integrity and high sense of responsibility.

Major Responsibilities
1. Sourcing & Project Management
A. Source new local suppliers for office furniture finished goods, components, and hearth product.
B. Initial supplier on-site visits to provide evaluation reports.
C. Project management follow ups with suppliers. Obtains quotations, on-site sample inspection, sample preparation status, work out problem solutions …etc.
D. Domestic arrangements for customer’s business trip itinerary.
E. Participate on-site for handover meetings and production pilot run at supplier after new project is completed before initial orders.
F. Other strategic initiatives or special projects assigned by direct supervisor

2. Quality Inspection
A. Follow Quality Inspection Assistant’s (QIA) arrangement to carry out on-site inspection for HNI products at Vietnam supplier factory
B. Inspect and verify the function & dimension & appearance of the product;
C. On-site reliability test of product, such as Pencil hardness test & X-cut tape test;
D. Verify packing and label content and location;
E. Fill in the inspection report (PIR) and get supplier signature also, then take picture of the report and send it back to QIA by E-mail on time;
F. Follow the Non-conformance Products procedure when there is reject issue happened;
G. Join in the supplier IPQC process on special case;
H. Join in the training and education to supplier on their process improvement for assigned projects;
I. Trouble shoot the issue & defects which happened at supplier correctly and on time;
J. Support Quality Engineer on supplier quality control & continuous process improvement;
K. Keep good communication and coordination at supplier site;

1. Vietnamese
2. 3+ years’ Experience in furniture sourcing & quality inspection for foreign company or customers;
• Experience on international trading, product development or marketing is a plus.
• Experience in cross-functional environment, manufacturing, sales, financial, or supply chain functions is a plus;
• Familiar with experience in furniture industry for USA market customers is a plus;
• Familiar with AQL sampling plan, and on-site inspection tools is a plus, such as using caliper, can read drawings, etc.,
• Understand process of metal die-casting, or metal stamping, or plastic injection molding is a plus,
• Understand the BIFMA standard is a plus;
3. Excellent at Vietnamese, Good at Chinese listening and speaking, Excellent at English reading and writing that can read U.S. furniture inspection standard and writing reports and emails in English;
4. College graduated
5. Working location: Vietnam, (existing supplier nearby Ho Chi Minh City)
