Legal Associate - Vietnam – Salary Range Negotiation

Reporting full-time to the Senior Legal Counsel based in Singapore and Operations Manager of QNET Vietnam, you will:
• Support, handle contract/agreement reviews and generally during the contracting process under supervision of

Legal Counsels
• Perform research on both local and foreign laws in relation to legal inquiries
• Support the legal counsels on litigation matters
• Assisting in other ad-hoc duties as required
• Maintain the company statutory registers and records
• Arrange for shareholder and director meetings when directed by the Company Secretary
• File necessary documentation with District, Province, and National authorities during the normal course of business

Manage corporate secretarial activities including:
• Lodge and file in time all necessary documents required by law
• Provide administrative support in preparation of meetings
• Provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to the board
• Assist in the implementation of corporate strategies by ensuring that the board’s decisions are properly carried out and communicated
• Ensure that the company meets all its legal obligations
• Stay updated on relevant developments and changes in statutory and regulatory obligations
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Translate legal documents from time to time

Reasoning for New Hire

We require a legal associate or junior level attorney based in Ho Chi Minh City as a cost saving measure and to ensure compliance with district, provincial, and national laws in Vietnam.
Other MLM countries have expressed to us the importance of a legal team in Vietnam. Myself and the Business Development team were not entirely sure that would be required. However, even before the launch of the operations there, we have had a few instances where a legally trained individual would have been more than useful for talking to the authorities or making filings with the local government.

Furthermore, we will save costs on translation and legal work. Currently, we hire external counsel to do these tasks and that will always be costly in the long run. If we can bring in this hire relatively quickly, we can maximize the investment in outside counsel because the new hire will be able to learn from the external counsel and build templates off what those lawyers produce.

Most importantly, this position can help to facilitate new IR recruitment and compliance with local retail requirements. A full time legal employee will be able to work with our customs clearance and logistic providers, ensure proper recruitment procedures, and file appropriate documentation for accounting and gathering requirements.

• Recognized legal qualification
• Minimum 3 to 8 years of relevant legal experience in law firm or corporate legal department
• Drafting skills in corporate and commercial matters
• Well-presented with good interpersonal skills, communication skills and meditation skills in English
