*Job Context
Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation is a grassroots charity serving children in crisis throughout Vietnam. We believe that every child deserves the best care we can offer. Blue Dragon kids are street kids, children with disabilities, and children who have been trafficked. We rescue kids from danger and slavery, reunite them with their families when we can, and provide all the services needed for recovery and growth.
The Communications and Fundraising team ensures the success of Blue Dragon’s work through fundraising, communications and marketing, and by maintaining our excellent reputation with donors, sponsors and the wider community.

*Key Objectives
• Create excellent written promotional materials and other public communication materials
• Create and maintain quality social and digital media content to engage with donors and supporters, which align with Blue Dragon’s values and missions
• Develop quality communications with donors, schools, and other supporters through updates, reports, information packs, and other written materials to build strengthen donor relations
• Support the team to fulfill its strategies and objectives

*Main responsibilities
The position responsibilities will be negotiated with the Manager and other members of the team, and are expected to include:
Social and Digital Media
• • Write, schedule and post social media content in conjunction with the team
• • Develop communications content to promote Blue Dragon’s work on different platforms including website, fundraising platforms and external partner’s communication channels.
• • Keep abreast of current practice in content marketing, social and digital media, fundraising and communications, and materials via different channels such as videos, infographics, etc. for social and digital media make recommendations to optimise Blue Dragon’s social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube

*Communications Materials
• • Produce or assist with the development and production of communications materials, including newsletters, annual reports, brochures, video/films and media packs as well as content for major events, campaigns and appeals
• • Create or co-create articles on Blue Dragon’s achievements and work
• • Edit reports and updates prepared by other team members

*Other
• • Contribute to and implement the Communications and Fundraising strategies
• • Take part in occasional public events
• • Liaise with program staff to gather information on program activities for reporting to and engaging with donors on program activities

*Writing skills development
• • Develop guidelines for writing in Blue Dragon’s tone and style, which expresses our missions and values
• • Work with and mentor other staff members in developing written communications
• • Research and disseminate tips and methods for good writing skills

*Support
The Content Creator/Writer supports the entire Communications and Fundraising team, and is closely supported by the Manager and CEO.

Key selection criteria
*Essential
• Demonstrated commitment to Blue Dragon’s values
• Excellent written English language skills, able to adapt style and tone and create messages for different audiences
• Skills in editing, grammar checking and proofreading
• Experience in social media, website development and the digital environment
• Experience in communications, marketing, event management or public relations environment
• Ability to work independently, set priorities and complete work accurately and timely
• Desire and proven ability to work as part of a team, with strong interpersonal skills

*Desirable but not essential
• Experience in working in a non-profit environment
• Skills in using photo editing and graphic design software and tools
